About my work:
My paintings seek to explore the intersection between the physical world we see and the imagination. I find that much of what we see in our physical world becomes abstracted when it’s visually removed from its environment. I’m interested in capturing the beauty and ambiguity of entities that surround me by capturing mere shapes, forms and colors. My relationship to painting is often inspired by travel—the intense experience in a natural site -- the smells, feel, touch, and cultural memory all remain within me and demand something of me artistically.
